WebSitePulse 2015 Vacation Planning Websites Performance & Uptime Report

Vacation season is near, and people have already started to plan their vacation escapes.

Online booking has proven to be one of the most efficient ways to plan a trip in recent years as it’s easy, fast, and you get the chance to compare prices of pretty much everything.

Of course, online booking has its flaws as now vacationers have to choose from thousands of websites, some of which could be scams collecting personal data, or offering unreasonably high prices.

In order to stay competitive, vacation booking websites must maintain flawless performance and availability or else visitors could quickly switch to a competitor and never return. These websites must be particularly prepared to bear the heavy traffic during the vacation season.

That is why, to see how they are performing, we decided to monitor some of the most popular websites for online booking. We will be keeping an eye on their response time and uptime and will be reporting their stats on a daily basis from May 18th until June 30th, 2015.

The WebSitePulse Performance Reports will measure the websites’ uptime and response time as the most important metrics for the availability and the reliability of any web-based operation, critical for the End Users' overall online experience. Measurements of web transactions will be made every 15 minutes, simultaneously from 4 different monitoring locations. In-depth analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future references. The WebSitePulse Application Monitoring service is used to collect data and produce the Report.
