The Traceroute test (a.k.a. trace route, tracert) will trace the route that test packets take from one web destination to another. The test results provide a list of hosts or IP addresses showing the route taken by the test packets starting from the selected monitoring location to the destination Domain or IP. Common uses of the Traceroute test are network troubleshooting and to help identify routing problems or firewalls that may be blocking access to a web site.
