As you can see in the results below, most of them delivered a performance which matches the industry standards. Their services were consistent, fast and reliable. There was one major incident only and you can find more about it in our Report Highlights section. The sporadic connection errors that plagued the site affected not only its daily performance, but its overall uptime statistics as well. In general, seven of the monitored websites functioned without any interruptions and hit the 100% uptime mark. The downtime of the other six websites was caused only by some brief disruptions related to network latency. The WebSitePulse Performance Reports measure uptime and response time as the most important metrics for the availability and the reliability of any web-based operation. To provide accurate results, we measure the performance of a complete web transaction which simulates the typical End User’s interaction with a website. The measurements of the multi-step online transactions were made every 15 minutes, simultaneously from 3 different monitoring locations. The reporting period covers the dates between April 05 and April 18, 2011. Performance and availability measurements are made for a typical multi-step web transaction at 15 minute monitoring interval, every day between the hours of 6AM and 3AM EST. Between 3AM and 6AM is the time when a scheduled maintenance most likely will be performed by IT staff and that is why we automatically suspend the monitoring process during this time every day.
