WEBSITEPULSE™ REPORTS SEARS.COM UNAVAILABLE FOR SHOPPING THIS MORNING

Orlando, FL - (December 22, 2006) - WebSitePulse - an Orlando, FL based provider of global, independent, and remote monitoring of web-based systems, applications, and e-business transactions reports that Sears.com website was unavailable from 6:00 am EST until 9:20 am EST this morning.

The leading retailer's website experienced availability problems, timing out on most probes at the index page and occasionally at some of the consecutive steps of the monitored transaction process. According to WebSitePulse experts, the downtime could have been the result of heavy load or misconfiguration of the Sears.com servers.
Early morning online visitors of one of the leading web destinations during the Holiday shopping period were unable to connect to the website at all.

"Our monitoring agent in Washington, DC first detected the malfunction right after the scheduled downtime for all monitored targets, at 06:02 pm EST, and triggered the alarm," said Iavor Marinoff - CEO of WebSitePulse. "Sears.com functionality was immediately tested from multiple locations in our network, as well as by an authorized technician, as part of our false alarm prevention procedure. The service was restored by 09:20 am EST today but WebSitePulse continues to carefully measure Sears.com web performance" - concluded Marinoff.

Sears.com is included in the 2006 Holiday Season Web Performance and Uptime Report generated daily by WebSitePulse between November 24st and December 31th 2006.
