WebSitePulse 2026 Vacation Planning Websites Performance and Uptime Report Summary

Summer vacation planning 2026 is over. Millions of travelers researched destinations, compared accommodation options, and booked hotels, rentals, tours, and travel-related services through convenient online platforms. WebSitePulse’s 2026 Vacation Planning Season Report is ready as well. For this purpose, we monitored 10 popular international websites for travel, hospitality, and vacation planning during the vacation planning period between May 20th and June 30th, 2026.

For this Performance Report, WebSitePulse measured the performance of the websites’ home pages and complete web transactions, reflecting how an end-user would interact with each website.

The report measured Uptime and Response Time as the most critical metrics for the availability and reliability of all web-based operations. Measurements were collected from four different monitoring locations: Washington, DC (US East Coast), San Francisco, CA (US West Coast), Sydney (Australia), and Amsterdam (Netherlands, Europe).

The overall performance of the monitored travel and vacation planning websites demonstrated strong preparedness to meet online traffic during the 2026 vacation planning season.

We have found that the average daily response time from all monitored websites was 2.384 sec. The daily average response times by location are as follows:
  • Washington, DC (US East Coast) – 1.608 sec.
  • San Francisco, CA (US West Coast) – 2.305 sec.
  • Sydney (Australia) – 4.022 sec.
  • Amsterdam (Netherlands, Europe) – 1.603 sec.
This year’s speed winner is hipcamp.com, with an average response time of 0.852 seconds, followed by agoda.com with 1.248 seconds and avantstay.com with 1.430 seconds. Close behind was lonelyplanet.com, with an average response time of 1.451 seconds. At the bottom of the response time table were socalbnb.org with 4.643 seconds and airbnb.com with 4.360 seconds average response time. Both websites were affected by significantly slower performance from the Sydney monitoring location, where average response times reached 7.882 seconds for socalbnb.org and 9.014 seconds for airbnb.com.

The daily average uptime for the entire group of 10 websites for the 2026 travel planning season was 99.992%. The daily average uptime by location is as follows:
  • Washington, DC (US East Coast) – 99.992%
  • San Francisco, CA (US West Coast) – 99.990%
  • Sydney (Australia) – 99.993%
  • Amsterdam (Netherlands, Europe) – 99.992%
This year’s uptime winners, each with 100.000% uptime across all four monitoring locations, are agoda.com, avantstay.com, hipcamp.com, hoteltonight.com, and socalbnb.org.

At the bottom of the availability chart stands hotelplanner.com, with 99.970% average uptime, followed by airbnb.com with 99.974% and bookaway.com with 99.980%. Although these results indicate very high availability overall, hotelplanner.com recorded the largest accumulated unavailability during the monitored period.

Methodology:
Performance and availability are measured for a typical travel-related booking web transaction at 15 minute monitoring interval, every day, 24/7. The WebSitePulse application monitoring service is used to collect data and to create the reports.
The steps in each transaction are comparable for all websites, and reflect the real online buyers' experience. The simultaneous monitoring is performed from four locations of the WebSitePulse global monitoring network: San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC; Sydney, Australia, and Amsterdam, Netherlands. In case of a detected malfunction or unavailability, the system performs automated error verification from four independent resources and only after the above procedure is performed and has returned consistent results, the detected error is confirmed, recorded, and included in the daily performance reports. In these cases, an advanced WebSitePulse exclusive feature comes into play - Forced Monitoring -, which automatically switches to a 3 minute monitoring interval for increased accuracy.

About WebSitePulse:
WebSitePulse is a leading provider of global, independent, and objective availability and performance monitoring of web sites, servers, network components, web applications, e-business- and email round-trip transactions.
