IIS / Internet Information Services


IIS stands for Internet Information Services (formerly Internet Information Server). It is an extensible Microsoft web server that runs on Windows NT platforms. It is tightly integrated with the Windows operating system, but may be absent from some editions. IIS is available only for the Windows platform.

ISS supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SMTP and NNTP.
