WebSitePulse 2021 Vacation Planning Websites Performance & Uptime Report

The summer is almost here, and we are getting ready for vacation. It is this time of the year when people begin planning their summer time off.

Last years' summer vacation season took heavy losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical restrictions, high unemployment rate, and low personal savings lead the traveling and recreation business to its knees.

However, the pandemic is fading now, and more and more people are turning their heads to the long-lasting summer vacation. 67% of the Americans plan their vacation during the summer months (June — August), which is a 17% increase from those who traveled this spring (March — May).

74% of the traveling plan to relax domestically. That means more competition for transportation and accommodations across the US. To support that, hotel searches are up 65% compared to the first week of January. Searches for attractions and tours have increased by 78%, and restaurant searches are up 53%.

With the heavier competition, a perfectly working website is a must. Whoever has prepared their website for better performance would get a bigger piece of the pie.

We at WebSitePulse, as a monitoring company, can't stress more on the importance of monitoring your websites and servers 24/7 to make sure their performance and availability are spotless, especially when heavier traffic is expected.

As we do annually, we will be keeping a close eye on 10 of the most popular US travel booking websites for their performance and uptime during the busiest booking period - May 18th - July 4th, 2021, and report their efficiency.

The WebSitePulse Performance Reports will measure the websites' uptime and response time as the most critical metrics for the availability and the reliability of any web-based operation, crucial for the End Users' overall online experience. Measurements of web transactions will be made every 15 minutes, simultaneously, from 4 different monitoring locations.

In-depth analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future references.

The WebSitePulse Web Transaction Monitoring service is used to collect data and produce the Report.
