WebSitePulse 2022 Vacation Planning Websites Performance & Uptime Report

The summer vacation is at our doorsteps, and more and more travelers are putting the pandemic behind them. A global study by American Express, fielded in seven countries, found that people plan to spend more, go farther, and dust off their bucket lists in 2022.

The travelers' confidence in planning trips has exploded in the last year as pandemic worries wane. Nearly 74% of them say they are willing to book a trip for 2022 even if they might have to cancel or modify it later. Last year that number was 56%.

However, according to a Forbes Advisor survey, 54% of summer vacationers say the cost of trips affects their travel plans, and 50% are affected by concerns around Covid-19. Despite these numbers, 42% of the travelers say they'll spend more than last year, 28% will pay less, and 15% expect their vacation spending to be about the same.

There is another issue concerning this year's summer vacation plans. This time, the negative impact may not come because of Covid-19. High prices due to inflation may prompt prospective travelers to switch up their plans. Only time will tell.

A perfectly working website is a must for vacation travel booking companies, whatever the economic and health situation is. Whoever has prepared their website for better performance would get a bigger piece of the pie.

We at WebSitePulse, as a monitoring company, can't stress the importance of monitoring your websites and servers 24/7 to make sure their performance and availability are spotless, especially when heavier traffic is expected.
