WebSitePulse 2022 Valentine's Day Online Retail Performance and Uptime Report

January is over, and the Holiday season hype with it. Now we are looking upon the most romantic holiday of the year — St. Valentine's Day. Monday, February 14, 2022, will mark the third year we celebrate this holiday during the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, Covid-19 has prohibited many people from being physically close to their admired ones. However, millions of others have found ways to come together or express their love and affection regardless of the circumstances.

In 2022, $23.9 billion is expected to be spent on St. Valentine's gifts for partners, romantic dinner, chocolates, Valentine's cards, and flowers. 53% of the Americans say they are going to celebrate St. Valentine's Day this year, spending an average of $175.41, according to NRF.

Most of the spending is predicted to be for candy (56%), greeting cards (40%), flowers (37%), dining out (31%), jewelry (22%), clothing (22%), and gifts cards (21%).

With more than one-third of the presents predicted to be bought over the internet, the online stores that want more significant profit have to prepare for heavier traffic, perfect uptime, and fast web transactions to satisfy their customers' needs.

For the 15 th year in a row, WebSitePulse will monitor 7 of the most popular gift websites. This Performance Report will measure the websites' uptime and response time as the most critical metrics for any web store's availability and reliability.

Web transactions will be measured every 15 minutes, simultaneously, from 3 different monitoring locations.

In-depth analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future references.
