Performance Tracking > 2022 Hurricane Season
The Atlantic hurricane season relates to storms and hurricanes formed in the Northern Hemisphere. It includes the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, affecting the North American continent.
So far, this year's Atlantic Hurricane Season has been relatively slow. It started earlier on January 16 th with an unnamed subtropical storm, followed by the tropical storms Arlene (June 1-3), Bret (June 19- 24), Cindy (June 22-26), and Category 1 hurricane Don (July 14-24). So far, the storms have caused minimal damage and brought no deaths.
The 2023 Pacific Hurricane Season officially began on May 15 th in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and June 1 st in the Central Pacific. Both end on November 30 th, 2023. Although there was one tropical depression, one tropical storm, one hurricanes category one, one hurricane category two, one hurricane category three, and one major hurricane (category four), their impact was low on the U.S. coastline.
For the 18 th consecutive year, WebSitePulse will provide free monitoring and notifications during the rest of the 2023 hurricane season to five of the most popular websites that present their users with real-time forecasts, emergency information, and donation opportunities in times of hurricanes, floods, and other natural or man-caused disasters.
The WebSitePulse Performance Reports will measure the websites' uptime and response time as the most critical metrics for any web-based operations' availability and reliability — crucial for the End Users' overall online experience. Web transactions will be measured every 15 minutes simultaneously from three different monitoring locations. In-depth analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future reference.
The Reports reflect the most common performance criteria: response time and availability - but in-debt analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future references.
WebSitePulse reports the following results from web performance measurement of the Hurricane- and disaster-related websites:
The daily Average Response time from all monitored websites was 1.765 sec.
The typical shopping transaction took the least time for nhc.noaa.gov visitors - 0.384 sec., while the visitors of trackthetropics.com had to be the most patient, as the shopping transaction there took in average of 5.872 sec.
