WebSitePulse 2023 Vacation Planning Websites Performance & Uptime Report

As the highly anticipated vacation season approaches, people eagerly plan their escapes and rely on vacation planning websites to curate their dream getaways.

Despite the challenges of traveling last year, Americans still intend to travel in 2023. According to a Forbes survey, 87% of them are expected to travel at least as much as they did in the prior year, with 49% selecting that they expect to travel more. This is especially true among younger individuals, with 59% aged 18 to 26 planning to travel more in 2023.

To finance their travels Americans are well aware that it comes with a price tag. 45% of respondents are planning a larger travel budget for 2023 compared to their expenditures in 2022. Approximately 28% of respondents stated that their budgets would remain relatively unchanged this year. Most participants (49%) expect to spend $4,000 or more on travel this year, while 28% have set aside a budget from $2,000 to $3,999.

In this digital age, online traveling platforms have become indispensable tools, offering a wealth of information and resources. However, the performance and uptime of these websites are paramount to delivering an exceptional user experience.

We at WebSitePulse, as a monitoring company, can't stress the importance of monitoring your websites and servers 24/7 to ensure their performance and availability are spotless, especially when heavier traffic is expected.

As we do annually, we will keep a close eye on 10 of the most popular US travel booking websites for their performance and uptime during the busiest booking period – May 23th - June 30th, 2023, and report their efficiency.

The WebSitePulse Performance Reports will measure the websites' uptime and response time as the most critical metrics for any web-based operation's availability and reliability, which are crucial for the End Users' overall online experience. Web transactions will be measured every 15 minutes simultaneously from 4 different monitoring locations.

In-depth analytical information is also collected and stored in the WebSitePulse system for future reference.

The WebSitePulse Web Transaction Monitoring service is used to collect data and produce the Report.
